The biggest problem for the cork industry, when dealing with cork for musical instruments, is that a very high quality cork is essential, almost without pores
(we name it Flor, from the Portuguese word for flower), and that it is very difficult
to get, since without pores the cork tree could not breathe.

However, Somsen & Poole da Costa, Lda., is still able to produce cork sheets (usually with 160 x 100 mm
or 100 x 100 mm) and cork stripes, with or without bevelled ends, and also rings and cylinders, with or without bore, in top quality cork, however quantities can not be too high.
